There are City Council meetings 4 Mondays of the month, except in July and August, when the meetings are held on the first 2 Mondays.  All Council meetings start at 7:30 P.M. unless otherwise noted on the agenda.  Agendas are posted to the internet by Friday at 5:00 P.M. for the upcoming Monday night meeting.  All meetings are open to the public and there is a forum for public comment.  If a holiday falls on a Monday (and rarely Tuesday), Council meets on the next business day of the week.  If there are 5 Mondays in a month, there is no Council meeting on the 5th Monday.

 

Work Sessions of Council are held the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month. These are the meetings at which Council members discuss the merits of the issues before them.  There is no action taken on issues during a Work Session.

 

Regular Meetings of Council are held the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month and members vote on legislation they've discussed at previous Work Sessions.

 

Special Meetings of Council may be called if an issue is time sensitive and in the best interest of the community.  All public office meetings, with the exception of a dire emergency, require 24 hours notice.
