Committees of Council

Occasionally issues come before Council that require more narrow, specific deliberation.  Committees of Council meet separately and as often as necessary to research these issues.  The City's Law Director usually attends these meetings and, if warranted, other municipal officials, consultants, residents, etc. are called upon in an effort to allow the Committee to come to an educated conclusion.  The Committee then votes to refer the issues back to Council-as-a-Whole with a positive or negative recommendation.  This process enables Council to act more efficiently and in a more well informed manner.  There are 3 Council representatives on each committee, 1 chairperson and 2 members.

Meetings are scheduled as needed. Committee meetings are open to the public and your input is welcome and appreciated.
