Please join me in thanking Jeanne McFarland, Venla Urig and Pearl Olearcik for planting all the flowers around the senior center this year. They are always such a colorful addition to our landscape and these ladies do a great job choosing and planting a beautiful variety of blooms for us. We are very appreciative of you and your time for this project every year. Additionally I would like to thank Pearl Olearcik for her service as Vice President on the Avon Seniors, Inc Board. Special thanks also to Eileen Niedbalski for her years of service to the transportation program of the Avon Senior Center. We wish you both luck and success in your future endeavors.
Welcome back Caryn Tovtin! Caryn used to drive for us some time ago and always wanted to return if the opportunity arose. She is now our Trans- portation Scheduler and is excited to be back with the seniors. Stop in and say hello! We are also excited about the activities coming up over the next few months; we will have another Lorain County Metro Parks bus trip, Pie & trivia, monthly pizza parties, music bingo, and much more. We are starting a walking group on Thursday mornings, and have added a Cleveland Part 5 to our trip program! I am also hosting a Coffee with the Coordinator event on Thursday, August 13 at 11:00AM. This will be a casual environment to talk about various things happening at the senior center, as well as allow for an open forum to discuss ideas and ask questions. Additionally, please join us on Wednesday, August 19 for our Annual Picnic! This year’s event will be held at the Lake House at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Avon Lake. Cost for a boxed lunch is $7 per person and includes dessert and cold beverages. We can enjoy the warm breeze and cool views of Lake Erie, take a walk, listen to music we will have on site and have a relaxing afternoon. Check inside the newsletter for more info on cost and lunch options. Please note some scheduling changes with our movie day in August to accommodate some needs for the Adult Clinic. The summer may be winding down but we are still on the move!
Don’t forget - There’s still time to buy your raffle tickets to win the
loge for the August 21 Lake Erie Crushers game. Look inside for more info.
Lastly, the Avon Seniors Inc Board currently meets the first Wednesday of
every month at 10AM in the Main Hall of the Senior Center. The meeting is
open to anyone who would like to attend. Any and all are welcome!
Be well...See you soon.
