The Utilities Department has hired Leak Seekers LLC to do a water leak survey of all city owned infrastructure. The purpose of the leak survey is to verify the integrity of the water distribution system and to identify any problem areas where underground leaks may be present. This survey not only helps the city mitigate water loss but also aides in capital improvement planning. The last leak survey was conducted in 1999. When a leak is found the contractor is able to pinpoint the location using ultra sonic sound equipment and the Utilities Department is able to repair the leak. You may notice a 2-3 person crew in the city right-of-way inspecting fire hydrants, meter pits and valves. The survey is starting on Wednesday September 5, 2018 and is expected to take 2-3 weeks with the majority of the work being conducted during business hours however some of the major roads will need to be inspected at night. Please contact the Utilities Department at 440-937-5740 with any questions or concerns.
