There was a huge turnout for the parade and ceremonies honoring our military Monday May 25. Some of the participants included an honor guard, fire and police, girl and boy scouts, churches, the Lions Club and others. The Avon Marching Band provided wonderful music, and there wasn't a dry eye in the cemetery as taps was played. An all men's choir sang patriotic songs and the local veteran's association gave a 21 gun salute. Mayor Jensen read a poem emphasizing freedom is not free. Thanks to all participants and resident onlookers.
