AVON AQUATIC FACILITY POSITIONS

LIFEGUARD

Red Cross Lifeguard certification required.  Applications also accepted from those enrolling in a lifeguarding class.   Provide a safe, clean and customer friendly aquatic facility. Responsible for preventing and responding to emergencies, accident and injuries.  Understand and enforce facility rules, maintain skills through in-service training & certification renewal.  Provide information and assistance to customers, perform cleaning and equipment set up/take down duties. Minimum age 15.  Wage range $10.00 -$13.00/hr.; higher rates for guards with experience.

Lifeguard Classes available at local YMCA’s and Recreation Centers

POOL TECHNICIAN

Keeps pool area, buildings and grounds clean; Performs custodial duties including cleaning, removing water from and stocking locker/restrooms; Cleans equipment, pool gutters, decks etc.; vacuums pool; Remove litter and debris, trash;  Set up for and clean up after the day’s activities. Starting Wage: $8.80/hr.  Minimum Age 15.

Pool Supervisor (age 18+ yrs)

Pool Cashier (age 17+ yrs) 

AVON PARKS & RECREATION SUMMER PROGRAM POSITIONS

Summer Program Supervisor(s)

  • Plans, supervises and implements the program in accordance with the goals and policies of the Avon Parks & Recreation Department
  • Supervises counselors and ensures that each carries out daily schedule of activities 
  • Ensures that all counselors have appropriate supplies and program needs to deliver a quality program
  • Responsible for the safety and security of all children and staff
  • Ensures communication with parents regarding their children’s experience
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by Avon Parks & Recreation Dept.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification (Avon Parks & Rec. can assist with obtaining your certification)

Summer Program Counselor(s) 

  • Guide children in implementing and participating in all age appropriate activities 
  • Follow daily schedule and make adjustments when necessary by improvising and being flexible.
  • Create an exciting and fun atmosphere for children.
  • Provide and maintain a safe environment in all activities.
  • Implement creative activities that teach a diverse set of skills.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be a minimum of 16 years old
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification (Avon Parks & Rec. can assist with obtaining your certification)
