Students Grades 3-5:

Do you want to MOVE, ROCK, PLAY & MAKE NOISE? Then POUND Class is for YOU!!

Instead of listening to music, you become the music in this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training. Using Ripstix®, lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising, POUND transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out.  Numerous studies have proven the powerful brain-boosting, stress-relieving effects of drumming. The rhythm of drumming permeates the entire brain to improve focus, increase higher-level thinking and decision-making skills, boost the immune system, and decrease anxiety and fatigue.  Participants will improve rhythm, timing, coordination, speed, agility, endurance, and musicality.

Each POUND session will be followed by play time on the school playground. This session is open to children in grades three through five.  Children should be dressed comfortably and in shoes for exercising (closed-toe only).
