If you are able to safely view an informational tag, you may call the animal's owner. If you cannot view the tag or if you are not comfortable doing so, call the Avon Police non-emergency phone number at 440-934-1234. Give your location and a description of the animal to the dispatcher. An officer will respond as soon as possible.

In partnership with University Hospitals, CVS and the Lorain County Drug Task Force, the Avon Police Department has installed a drop-box for both prescription medication and hypodermic needles in the lobby of the Avon Police Department.
Annually, the Avon Police Department partners with the Lorain County Sheriff Drug Task Force to facilitate a day to turn in outdated or no longer needed medications. Please check our website for updates.
In order to solicit within the city of Avon, Ohio solicitors are required to have a valid solicitation permit issued by the City of Avon, Ohio. In order to obtain a permit to solicit within the city solicitors are required to fill out and submit the Solicitation Permit Application found on the city's website.
The City of Avon has available to all residents a sticker that can be placed at your home's entrance, informing peddlers, solicitors and canvassers to not knock on your door. Residents can obtain this sticker by stopping by Avon City Hall or the Avon Police Department.
